Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is the horrifying sequel to the first game in the series that nearly gave most players a heart attack when it was first released. In this game, you play as the night guard at a pizza place that is apparently haunted with numerous ghastly monsters that only appear at night.

This game is exceptionally scary compared to most horror mobile games, and it provides seven shifts that the player must survive in order to win. One of those is actually a day shift, which is new from the first game. There is a free demo of the game, but it only includes a single night shift, which is where the fun really waits.

Just like in the first game, the actual enemies are the animatronic characters that are supposed to make the pizza place fun for kids. The player must use everything at their disposal to watch these creatures during the night, and they will attempt to break into the security office to kill the player. Break in might be a bit of a misnomer since there aren't any doors to protect the player.

The player only has two defenses against these terribly scary creatures. The first is a mask made to look like one of the monsters, Freddy Fazbear, the main monster that the pizza shop is named for. By wearing the mask, the player can convince the monsters that they are actually a monster as well, so they will be spared. Players also have access to a flashlight since they represent a security guard, and that light helps to see what sort of monsters might be lurking closer.

There are 11 total monsters in this game that the player must watch, and without a true hiding spot like what was found in the first game, the stress is much more palpable. The security camera system is simple enough, but it requires fast reflexes to don the mask in time for it to be effective. Players that miss their chance will be subject to fantastic jump scares that go far beyond the first title.

In addition to the new mask protection system and the handful of new characters, players can now also customize the difficulty level for each individual monster. This allows the player to adjust the difficulty of the whole game, but it should be noted that maxing out the difficulty makes the game almost unplayably hard.

This game uses advanced 3D graphics that are strikingly similar to the first title, so there isn't much in the way of aesthetic improvements. There are almost no animations and the graphics aren't exceptionally noteworthy, but that only adds to the terrifying nature of the gameplay.

This game almost requires audio to play as well since the game employs shuffling and hissing sounds to create an even darker thematic element to the environment. There is even a creepy jack-in-the-box theme music that will make the hair on your neck stand.
